ATI's X1800.................

Briefly, the base R520 GPU is a 90-nanometer-process, 16-pixel-pipeline architecture -- in other words, it doesn't leapfrog Nvidia's 24-pipe GeForce 7800 GTX -- that also features 16 shader units. As usual, there'll be several different products based on the new GPU. The flagship Radeon X1800 XT is expected to have a core clock speed of 600MHz and memory speed of 1.4GHz, using 512MB of onboard GDDR-3. The Radeon X1800 XL will share the same basic specifications, but throttled back to a 550MHz core and 1.25GHz memory.
The X1800 Pro slices onboard memory to 256MB and lowers clock speeds even further, to 500MHz core/1GHz memory. Finally, the most-affordable-model Radeon X1800 LE uses only 12 pixel pipes, with 450MHz core and 900MHz memory speeds.
