Even faster Blu Ray writing

By using powerfull violet laser achieved Japan company Nichia extra fast writing on Blu Ray disc. They were able to burn data at speed near 45 mb/sec, which is much, much more better, than current speed 9 mb/s. Where is tha difference? While normal laser is only 20 mW, Nichia used laser with 320 mW output, which allows to write data much faster, due to shorter time needed to write each dot. Sounds good, but what it will do with eyes, if drive malfunction? Fear that wouldnt be healthy.
