Bad batteries again

And this time not from Sony, but from Sanyo. 205 thousands of them are placed in Lenovo notebooks, and need to be replaced. What manufacturers do, where are any checks, before supplying batteries to notebook manufacturers? Ill understand if there will be few bad pieces in series of thousands, but to make hundreds of thousands malfunctioning batteries and not to mention it? Seems incredible..
