AMD told something about socket M2

Although common praxis is ,that companies dont talk about their prepared projects, AMD oficially responsed some questions about their new socket called M2. M2 will be available neyt year, probably between q1 and q2 and it will be for all currently manufactured processors. (conversly, all those processors will be manufactured for M2) Main difference between it, and curent is support of DDR2 memory. (only DDR2, not DDR) working on speed up to 667 mhz, in dual channel mode. (yes, also semprons will in this socket contain dual channel memory controller, so we can expect high rise of raw power.)

New coolant technology called Silent-Pipe II

Silent-Pipe II is new way of cooling, made by Gigabyte. It is technology using natural laws to flow air without fan. It works that cool air from outside case is being warmed by heatsink, and then goes up inside. Card have also secondary passive heatsink, all bound together by heatpipes. By Gigabyte this solution should cool card 20oC below standard active cooling and even 45oC below passive fanless cooling. It seems good, but i dont know, if this wouldnt disturb normal airflow in case.

X1600 will be in december, at best.

ATi have problems with their new graphical chips designated X1 and number 3,6 or 8. That is known for a pretty long time, but now when they put X1300 onto market, some hoped that X1600 will follow soon. Now we know, it wont hapend. ATi have really problems with manufacturing so complex chips, and they will need some extra time to solve those problems. So, cards with X1600 wont be until december, and maybe later.
