Extremly fast memories

Elpida introduced new, extremly fast XDR memories. Their 512 mbit chips can run on 4,8 ghz effective speed. Chips run on 600 mhz, but using ODR technology. (Octal Data Rate, transfer data 8 times each cycle.) They will be used in digital cammeras and HD tvs during next spring. Hope such pieces of nice technology will find way into PCs soon. But, i rather wouldnt ask about price, think it will be extreme, same as speed and throughput of those.
